NI LMCs represent all NI GPs and trainees working in any setting. We represent the views of GPs to the local Integrated Care Office of the SPPG, and to any other appropriate organisations or agencies.
As an independent body with no political constraints, we can act as an advocate and can offer help on all matters relevant to general practice. GPs & Practices are welcome to contact us for help and advice to assist
We regard communication with constituent GPs as essential. We hope that through utilising many different forms of communication we are able to help GPs to prioritise the information and keep abreast of the main issues impacting on general practice.
We have an extensive network of contacts, through a combination of regular meetings or ad hoc meetings when particular issues of mutual interest or concern arise.
This includes SPPG, Dept of Health, PHA, BMA NI, All 5 NI Trusts; RCN, Federation Support Unit & the wider Federation community, BSO.
We also have an extensive network of contacts nationally.
NI LMCs represent NI General Practice at a number of national forums including the UK wide BMA General Practitioners Committee
The 4 Northern Ireland LMCs - Eastern, Northern, Southern and Western - joined the LMC Buying Group in 2015.
